My Journal
Hi, my name is Destiny Shami, and I'd like to
                    welcome you to my website!

I love to dance!  I've been studying the art of dance since I was eight years old.  Prior to that I  had gained lots of flexibility by starting Tae Kwon Do at the age of five.  In fact I was a certified black belt in the World Tae Kwon Do Federation by the time I had turned eight.  What I eventually discovered was that I really loved the movement involved in doing the forms more than I did the fighting, so it was really natural for me to segue into dance.  Besides, I was also very much into Michael Jackson and was so inspired by how he could dance. I watched his videos repeatedly and had a lot of his moves down.  So when I  started my dance classes I began with some jazz and tap, and before long I was adding ballet, modern, acro, and hip-hop.
I have studied under some of the most gifted teachers a student could ever hope for at
Showtime Dance Studios in Orlando, Florida.  Their instruction has led me to some great successes through the years in the convention/competition circuit, learning from some of the best in the business and receiving distinguished honors at Showstopper, LA Underground, Showbiz, Urban Jamm, LA Dance Force, American Dance Awards, Gus Giordano's World Jazz Congress, and  being named Teen Male Dancer of the Year at Tremaine Nationals.
When I am back in town, I continue to train  locally at Harddrive Productions, and under the guidance of ballet masters at School of the Performing Arts and Central Florida Ballet.
As I enter the professional world of dance, I hope to use this website as a means of sharing this journey with anyone who is interested.
So check out the site and please sign my "Guest Book" and let me know what you think!
